Defence forces advance in the Tavria sector

Over the past day, the Ukrainian Defence Forces advanced in the Tavria sector. Thanks to the professional actions of the defenders, the enemy lost more than five companies killed and wounded.

In addition, 46 pieces of enemy military equipment were destroyed and damaged. This was reported in Telegram by the commander of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops, Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi (to watch the video, scroll to the end of the news).

In particular, 13 tanks, 7 infantry fighting vehicles, armoured personnel carriers, Supercam UAVs, Shahed-136 UAVs, 4 2S19 Msta-S howitzers, 2A65 Msta-B howitzers, Buk anti-aircraft missile system, 2 MT-12 Rapira anti-tank guns, Zoopark radar, and a Solntsepek heavy flamethrower system have been turned into scrap metal on Ukrainian soil, Tarnavskyi said.

In total, he said, the Defence Forces carried out 1,487 firing missions and destroyed five enemy ammunition storage sites over the day.

As a reminder, the US Institute for the Study of War noted that on 19 June, the Ukrainian Defence Forces conducted counter-offensive operations in at least three areas and again achieved success. At the same time, the aggressor country, Russia, is moving some troops to the eastern front.

In total, over the past week, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have advanced up to seven kilometres in the Tavria (Zaporizhzhia) sector. They liberated 113 square kilometres of territory, including eight settlements in western Donbas and western Zaporizhzhia.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL:

- Deputy Minister of Defence Hanna Maliar said that the Ukrainian Defence Forces are gradually advancing in the south, but each step is very difficult for the defenders. The enemy will not just leave their positions - the Russian occupiers are putting up a fight.

- Minister of Defence of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov expressed confidence that our Armed Forces will liberate Crimea from Russian occupation within a year. He intends to celebrate his next birthday on the peninsula.
