Ukrainian Armed Forces use electronic warfare to change coordinates in Shaheds and redirect them back to Russia and Belarus - Le Monde
The Russian Federation's troops are trying to deplete Ukraine's air defense resources with cheap drone strikes, but the Defense Forces counter the Shaheda not only with kinetic means (fighters, helicopters, mobile anti-aircraft batteries, anti-aircraft missile systems, etc.) but also with electronic interference. That is why some of the kamikaze drones fly to Belarus or back to Russia.
This was stated by Le Monde. According to the newspaper, Ukrainian soldiers distract enemy drones from their targets by using a satellite coordinate spoofing system used by military equipment for airborne guidance.
Thanks to spoofing, the Shaheds are guided by fake coordinates rather than real ones, and therefore cannot attack the targets set by the occupiers.
To recap, in early November, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed that some Ukrainians may lose time on their cell phones during air raids.
The press service explained that this is due to the work of our military, who counter the shelling using electronic warfare equipment and replacing the GPS navigation coordinates.
