Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminate "Minister of Emergency Situations" and two "LPR deputies" in Lysychansk: details emerge
On February 3, the occupying head of the "LPR Ministry of Emergency Situations" and collaborator Oleksii Poteshchenko was killed in a strike on the occupied Lysychansk, Luhansk region. Also killed were "LPR deputies" Artem Trostianskyi and Ivan Zhushma.
The death of Poteshchenko was reported by Russian propaganda media, citing a representative of the "LPR Ministry of Emergency Situations." The occupation head of the LPR Leonid Pasichnyk confirmed the death of the "minister".
Later, the occupation mayor of Lysychansk, Eduard Sakhnenko, said that two deputies, Artem Trostyanskyi and Ivan Zhushma, were also killed in the strike.
Propagandists claim that the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck a bakery in the occupied city, allegedly killing 28 people and injuring 10 others.
Pasichnyk claims that "civilians" were allegedly in the building, but the Lysychansk city military administration said that the bakery was used by the occupiers and was opened after the city was captured. The bread was baked there for the Russian Armed Forces at the front and meetings of the invaders were held there.
According to some Russian sources, Ivan Zhushma, the owner of the bakery, was celebrating his birthday at the time of the strike. At the celebration, he gathered the "top of the Ministry of Emergency Situations", "prosecutors" and local "deputies". The attack was allegedly carried out thanks to the work of a gunner.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation stated that, according to preliminary data, the attack was allegedly carried out with a HIMARS MLRS.
What is known about Oleksii Poteshchenko
Oleksii Poteshchenko was born on December 3, 1976, he was 47 years old. He held senior positions in the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, but in 2014 he sided with the occupiers of the terrorist "LPR".
He worked in the "LPR People's Police " and later in the "LPR Ministry of Emergency Situations".
In September 2023, the occupiers appointed him "Minister of Emergency Situations of the LPR". According to the Myrotvorets website, Poteshchenko lived in Lysychansk.
