Ukraine has successfully tested a new American UAV system, the main element of which is the Hitchhiker interceptor drone. It has been called a real "game changer" that will change the way we defend against drone attacks.

This was reported by Newsweek. It is noted that the system was developed by two leading American technology companies - IronNet and Astrion.

This revolutionary drone defense technology has shown impressive potential to overcome threats from drones in real-world combat situations and increase the level of intelligence on the battlefield.

The defense network was created by combining IronNet's cybersecurity system, which provides real-time detection of cyber threats, with Asterion's drone countermeasures technology.

The core element of the system is the Hitchhiker, a high-speed, electrically powered interceptor drone designed to destroy enemy drones, including Shaheeds. This new technology offers a more cost-effective solution compared to the use of expensive defense systems, such as Patriot missiles.

According to Admiral Mike Hewitt, Director of IronNet, Hitchhiker is a true "game changer".

He emphasized that the joint partnership between Astrion and IronNet could make an important contribution to improving Ukraine's defense capabilities and change the approach to combating drones.

According to him, Astrion can provide protection against drones at the level of the whole country. The system allows detecting, classifying, tracking, and destroying enemy drones using autonomous interceptors launched from different locations.

IronNet, in turn, will provide a platform for cyber-resilient collective defense that will strengthen the Astrion network.

This new military technology can change the dynamics of modern warfare, the admiral emphasized.

According to the publication, it has already been presented to the Ukrainian military, who are working on the front line.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Ukrainian intelligence officers showed long-range drones used to strike military targets in Russia. Each drone is capable of carrying 75 kilograms of explosives, which makes them a powerful weapon in the fight against the aggressor.
