Ukraine has no "dirty bombs": Foreign Ministry reacts to the same old Russian fake about alleged preparations for nuclear provocation

Russian propaganda has once again recalled the fakes about Ukraine's intentions to use "dirty bombs" or attack nuclear power plants. However, our state has neither the intention nor the capability to carry out any such actions.

This was reported on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine with reference to the words of the speaker Heorhiy Tykhyi. The Department urges the enemy to stop spreading dangerous lies.

"Ukraine has always been and remains a committed member of the NPT: we do not have any 'dirty bombs' and do not plan to get them," emphasized the representative of the foreign Ministry.

He recalled that Russia is spreading this nonsense since 2022. Then Ukraine fully invited the IAEA mission, which completely refuted this lie.

"Nothing has changed since then," Tykhyi stated.

In 2022, then Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu called four of his colleagues from France, Britain, the United States, and Turkey to warn them about Ukraine's alleged preparations to use a "dirty bomb." Such statements caused nothing but bewilderment and distrust in the West, but such behavior of the Russians has one peculiarity: they try to blame what they plan to do themselves on the AFU.

"Dirty bomb" is a mixture of explosives, such as dynamite with radioactive powder or pellets. When exploding, the insides are spread around the epicenter, leaving radiation contamination.

As reported, in 2023, against the backdrop of failures in the war, the Russians recalled that Ukraine intends to "continue work on a dirty nuclear bomb." They claimed that for this purpose, the State Nuclear Regulatory Inspectorate of our state allegedly sent a batch of irradiated fuel from the Rivne nuclear power plant for reprocessing.
