"Ukraine decides for itself": Spain allows the use of provided weapons on Russian territory

The Spanish Defence Ministry believes that Ukraine itself should determine how and when to use the military equipment provided to it by Madrid. The ministry also noted that it did not know whether the Ukrainian Armed Forces used Spanish equipment during the Kursk operation.

This was stated by Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles during her visit to NATO headquarters in Valencia. She is quoted by The Kyiv Independent with reference to EFE.

"This is a war, and therefore Ukraine will use the equipment it considers necessary at any moment," Robles said, noting that the weapons Spain provides to Kyiv are defense weapons.

The head of the Spanish defense ministry added that she had no information about whether the Ukrainian military was using the equipment provided by Spain during the offensive in the Kursk region.

At the same time, Robles assured that Madrid will continue to support Kyiv with important defense equipment, and Ukraine "will always have the support of Spain", as well as of NATO.

Ukraine will also receive another Hawk air defense system from Spain. It will be in Ukraine in September.
