This is the only tool of influence on Ukrainians: Zelenskyy does not rule out that Russia may return to the tactics of striking at the energy sector in autumn

The OP suggested that in autumn and winter, Russia could again resort to strikes on infrastructure

Russia's campaign of massive attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure may be repeated in autumn and winter. Terror is the only tool left for the aggressor to influence Ukrainians.

This was stated by Mykhailo Podolyak, advisor to the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, in an interview with RBC-Ukraine. He noted that Russia could use the remains of cruise, ballistic, and hypersonic missiles, as well as drones, for this purpose. In this way, it is likely to terrorise civilians, critical and energy infrastructure.

The OP representative stressed that Ukraine currently needs to complete new transformers, replace and generally repair the infrastructure of its electricity distribution networks.

"All of this requires large financial expenditures," Podolyak said.

He also called for not forgetting the huge cost of this war.

"Either we lose, and then we will not exist as a state. Yes, it will be called Ukraine, but it will be a puppet state, a non-existent state. Either we win, no matter what, we will win this war," said the OP adviser.

As a reminder, on 17 June, DTEK's power engineers once again restored the power grids in Dnipropetrovska oblast and Donbas that were destroyed by Russian shelling. The power was restored to the homes of 3.5 thousand families.

Heavy fighting continues in the Donetsk region. As a result, a significant number of settlements remain without electricity.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL:

- On 14 June, consumers in a number of regions of Ukraine were left without electricity. The blackouts were caused by Russian shelling and flooding after the occupiers blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. These included the Kherson and Mykolaiv regions, as well as Donetsk, Sumy and Kharkiv regions;

- Ukraine's energy infrastructure was also damaged during the nighttime Russian attack on 22 May. As a result, the Zaporizhzhia NPP was temporarily cut off from power, and residents of Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk region lost power.
