They were planning to shell Kharkiv, but the FABs decided to stay home: a crater appeared in Belgorod after the "cotton". Photos and video

Crater formed in Belgorod after explosion

A powerful explosion took place in the Russian city of Belgorod on Thursday evening, April 20. Footage was posted online showing a huge crater on the road.

This was reported by Russian propaganda channels on Telegram. The media of the aggressor country reported the "fall of an unknown object" (to watch the video, scroll to the bottom of the page).

"At the crash site, within a radius of several metres, the ground looks like it has been dug up after arriving in the yard of a residential building, but there was no detonation on the ground. A huge crater has now formed in the area where the unknown object fell," the network wrote.

According to the propagandists, the crater was formed on Vatutina Street. Other channels reported that it was on Shalandina Street. There were no casualties, but several cars were damaged.

The services of the aggressor country are working at the scene.

"The explosion damaged a part of the building on Shalandina Street. Shell fragments were found in one of the apartments," the channels write.

According to eyewitnesses, the blast wave was so strong that one of the cars was thrown onto the roof of the store.

The network suggested that a guided aerial bomb could have fallen on Belgorod, which the Russian occupiers wanted to direct to Kharkiv. This is a FAB, a 500kg general-purpose aerial bomb with an explosive warhead developed in the USSR and mainly used by the Russian Air Force.

The governor of the Belgorod region, Vyacheslav Gladkov, has already responded to the 'emergency'. He said the crater that formed on the road was 20 metres in diameter.

"There is damage to the glazing in a neighbouring apartment building, the blast wave damaged several parked cars and toppled power poles," he wrote.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, a representative of the Defence Ministry's Main Intelligence Directorate, Andriy Yusov, said that there are no more safe places in Russia, as the full-scale war it has waged against Ukraine has reached every home "subject to the Putin regime."
