They are learning fast: Ukraine's Air Force says the occupants have not used A-50 aircraft for several days now

The Russian occupation forces have reduced the intensity of their use of A-50 long-range radar detection and control aircraft. Apparently, the enemy has drawn appropriate conclusions after losing two such aircraft over the past two months.
This was stated by Yurii Ihnat, a spokesman for the Air Force of Ukraine, during a TV marathon. According to him, the occupants have not used reconnaissance aircraft for several days.
He reminded that since the beginning of the full-scale war, the aggressor has suffered three losses of A-50s. In particular, in February last year, such an aircraft was damaged by Belarusian partisans at the Machulishchy airbase (Minsk region of the Republic of Belarus).
In 2024, the Ukrainian Air Force shot down a Russian A-50 and an Il-22 over the Sea of Azov on January 14. In addition, on February 23, the Defense Forces reported the downing of an occupier's A-50U.
"They have been missing for several days. They did not make a decision to send more planes," Ihnat said.

He says that the Russians do not have much of this kind of special equipment in service. Nevetheless, they could have restored the A-50 damaged in Belarus: they may have taken spare parts from another one and supplied it through donation, which is a common practice in the world.
"But those two are destroyed, and the enemy is already thinking about whether it is worth taking further risks by using long-range radar detection aircraft. The enemy draws conclusions and realizes that it can be destroyed," the Air Force spokesman said.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, before the start of the full-scale war, the Russian Federation had only nine reconnaissance aircraft: three A-50 and six A-50U. The occupiers use them to adjust strikes during massive shelling of Ukraine. One such aircraft costs at least $330 million.
