The United States does not expect any serious breakthroughs by Russia: Aid should help to stabilize the situation

Washington believes that Russian occupation forces may continue their offensive in the Kharkiv sector. At the same time, the United States does not expect any significant breakthroughs by Russia.

This was stated at a briefing on Monday by Deputy Spokesperson for the US Department of State Vedant Patel. He noted that Russia continues to increase its aggression.

"Russia continues to escalate its aggression, and we expect that Russia will try to advance, including on Kharkiv," the US foreign policy official said.

He did not rule out the possibility that the Russians will try to make more progress in the coming weeks, but no significant advances are expected.

"We do not expect any major breakthroughs, and over time, additional U.S. assistance, as well as continued support from our partners, will allow Ukraine to continue to withstand this aggression," the State Department official said.

In addition, he expressed his belief that the Ukrainian Armed Forces will have an advantage in the battles and will inflict significant losses on the Russian army.

- The head of the Kharkiv regional military administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that the occupiers continue to attack in the north of Kharkiv region. Ukrainian defenders repel absolutely all enemy attacks, but there is an expansion of the gray zone in the Kharkiv region, as the invaders are deliberately stretching the defense of the Armed Forces.

- Against the backdrop of a new offensive by the occupiers, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Mykhailo Drapaty was appointed commander of the Kharkiv military operation center. He will replace Yuriy Galushkin.
