The aggressor country, Russia, has put a lot of effort into capturing the village of Ocheretyne in the Pokrovsk district of Donetsk region. The enemy was rapidly advancing in this area of the Avdiivka front, but its actions have now stalled.

This was reported by Ukrainian Armed Forces serviceman Yevhen Ievlev on Kyiv24 TV channel. It should be reminded that the Russian army actually made a breakthrough in a month and gained a foothold in the settlement.

"After the occupation of Ocheretyne, the enemy's advances were quite fast and dynamic. But over the past four to five days, there have been no advances," he noted.

The soldier suggested that the occupiers probably realize that in a few weeks the Defense Forces will receive more weapons.

"Maybe I would like to think so, I ask for your understanding. But the enemy, when they realized that we would be reinforced in three or four weeks, just threw everything they had at us," Ievlev said.

He admitted that the Russian Armed Forces have a lot of equipment and ammunition to ensure a barrage of fire at night and in the morning. However, the military hopes that the invaders have already done everything they could with such an attack on this section of the Avdiivka front.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Israeli military observer David Sharpe said that what happened in Ocheretyne should not have happened. The Russian breakthrough led to the fact that several neighboring sections of the front were threatened by the abandonment of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

For his part, former Deputy Chief of the General Staff Ihor Romanenko explained that the Ukrainian defense in the area of Ocheretyne was the weakest. The occupiers took advantage of this and are trying to bring new forces to this part of the front and increase their offensive efforts.
