The occupiers struck at Kryvyi Rih: four people were killed and wounded. Photos and videos

On the afternoon of January 17, Russian troops attacked Kryvyi Rih in the Dnipro region. A residential area and an educational institution came under attack.

At least four people were killed, and there are also wounded. This was reported by the head of the Dnipropetrovs'k regional military administration Serhii Lysak.

He reported that the Russians had struck Kryvyi Rih at 12:46.

"In Kryvyi Rih, an educational institution and a residential building were damaged as a result of the Russian attack. We are checking whether people were injured. Air raid alert is in progress. Stay in safe places until the alert is lifted," the statement read.

A few minutes later, Lysak clarified that there were casualties as a result of the enemy attack.

"Preliminary, three people were killed by the Russian army, striking at Kryvyi Rih. There are wounded. More information later," he wrote.

Later, the death toll increased. The Russian strike killed three women aged 61, 50, and 43, and a 20-year-old man.

"According to the information, there are four dead in Kryvyi Rih. Three women and a man. Three people were injured. These are a 22-year-old girl and men aged 34 and 56. All of them are seriously injured. Doctors are providing the necessary assistance. All emergency services are working at the scene," Lysak said at 13:19.

According to the updated information, as of 13:28, five people were reported injured, two of them were treated on the spot.

"Two five-story buildings were damaged in Kryvyi Rih. A fire broke out in one of them. The building that was not in use was also damaged. The inspection of the affected area is ongoing," said the head of Dnipropetrovs'k Regional Military Administration.

By 2 p.m., six victims were reported.

"Kryvyi Rih. Four people were killed, and six more were injured as a result of Russian missile attacks on the city. A four-story building of an educational institution was partially destroyed. The missiles also hit an open area. Two apartment buildings and an outbuilding were damaged. A fire broke out on the fourth floor of one of the buildings," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

As of 13:51, the same information was provided by the Prosecutor's Office of Dnipropetrovs'k region.

"Under the procedural guidance of the Dnipropetrovs'k Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation was launched in criminal proceedings over a war crime that resulted in the death of people (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the statement said.

At 2:30 p.m., seven people were reported injured.

"The number of victims in Kryvyi Rih has increased. There are currently seven of them. Four are hospitalized. Most of them are in serious condition. One wounded is of moderate severity. Three people will recover at home," noted Lysak.

The head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council, Oleksandr Vilkul, said that "absolutely civilian and residential buildings were hit."

He also confirmed the deaths of four people.

"Ordinary civilians who were just in the yard of their five-story building. A day of mourning will be declared in the city on Monday, January 20," Vilkul said.

The Ukrainian Air Force reported two ballistic missiles fired in the direction of Kryvyi Rih: the first was recorded at 12:14 a.m., the second at 12:29 a.m.

On January 9, Russia attacked Kryvyi Rih with three Iskanders. All the missiles were shot down by Ukrainian air defense.

And on December 24, 2024, the Russians hit a residential building in Kryvyi Rih with a missile. The strike destroyed the entrance from the first to the fourth floor. Nine shops, more than 20 cars, and windows in a neighboring building were also damaged. One person was reported dead and 17 injured, including two children.
