On Monday, July 3, Russian terrorist troops attacked Sumy with drone strikes. The attack damaged a residential building in the center of the city, killing a man and injuring 16 others.

A photo of the aftermath of the strike was publishedby Public Sumy. Earlier, the mayor of the city Olexander Lysenko reported on the work of air defense in the city during the air alert and urged the citizens to take cover (to see the video, scroll to the end of the news).

According to eyewitnesses, a pillar of smoke rose in the city center after the explosion. It is not yet known whether there were any casualties as a result of the enemy attack. The "Electroavtotrans" reported about the blockage of traffic on Petropavlivska street.

Subsequently, the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak said that as a result of the Russian UAV strike one person died in the five-story building.

There are also injured, Deputy Mayor Polyakov told Suspilne. Rescuers are working at the site.

Recall: Russian occupation troops are shelling the border areas of Sumy Region on a daily basis. As a result, local residents, private houses and civilian institutions are affected. The most frequently shelled localities are Pysarivka, Bilopillia and Yunakivka.

The occupants use MLRS, artillery, and also air strikes with guided aerial munitions. However, it is civilians they are targeting.
