The "Obukhov" choked: Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has disabled another Russian ship

DIU disables another ship of the Russian Baltic Fleet

The Defence Intelligence of Ukraine has disabled another ship of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Armed Forces – the minesweeper "Oleksandr Obukhov." The ship was damaged and water got into the engine.

The DIU reported on the successful operation on October 7. The "Obukhov" was based in the city of Baltiysk.

According to the intelligence, the ship was supposed to go on combat duty but was severely damaged under "mysterious" circumstances.

"Due to the mysterious appearance of a hole in the gas duct, water got into the engine: "Obukhov choked," the scouts said.

The intelligence service added that the "Obukhov," which was being repaired in St. Petersburg just a couple of months ago, is now undergoing major repairs, and most likely for a long time.

"This can be a serious problem – a damaged M-503 engine is quite a scarce item. Repairing a key installation on a ship is technically difficult and expensive. The disabled enemy ship was recently repaired in St. Petersburg in July this year," the DIU said.

It should be remembered that the minesweeper "Alexander Obukhov" is the second ship of the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Armed Forces neutralized by the DIU in the last six months.

As reported by OBOZ.UA:

On April 7, as a result of an operation of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine in the Russian Kaliningrad region, the missile ship "Serpukhov" was disabled at the aggressor's naval base Baltiysk. As a result of a fire that broke out on the ship, the "Serpukhov" was seriously damaged and will spend at least six months undergoing repairs.

The Russian missile ship "Serpukhov" was set on fire by a Russian sailor with the pseudonym "Goga". He did this as part of the first joint special operation of the DIU and the Legion "Freedom of Russia" in the Russian Baltic Fleet. "Goga" himself joined the LFR and is fighting on the side of Ukraine.
