The hottest areas are in Kurakhove sector: how many combat engagements took place at the front so far

The nine hundred and fortieth day of Russia's large-scale war against Ukraine is over. Ukrainian defenders are repelling the invaders in every direction. The enemy suffers significant losses in personnel and equipment.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a summary for September 20, 2024, as of 22:00. It is noted that a total of 190 combat engagements have taken place since the beginning of the day, 52 of them in the Kurakhove sector.

Russian shelling

The Russian invaders launched four missile strikes on the territory of Ukraine, using 5 missiles, 54 air strikes with the use of 67 combat aircraft, and 671 kamikaze drones. At the same time, the enemy fired at the positions of our troops and populated areas using various types of weapons more than 3,700 times.

Situation at the front

In the Kharkiv sector, the occupants made three attacks near Vovchansk during the day. The Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled two enemy attacks, and another is currently ongoing. According to preliminary information, since the beginning of the day, enemy losses amounted to 64 occupants killed and wounded, and one armored personnel carrier, three multiple rocket launchers, 51 UAVs and two vehicles were destroyed. In addition, one unit of special equipment, eight artillery systems and two other vehicles were damaged.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy attacked Ukrainian troops' positions in the vicinity of Stepova Novoselivka, Synkivka, Stelmakhivka, Kruhliakivka and Lozova nineteen times. Three battles are ongoing.

In the Lyman sector, Russian invaders tried to advance near Cherneshchyna, Hrekivka, Druzheliubivka, Nevske, Novosadove, Terny and Zarichne 18 times. Ukraine's defenders repelled 17 enemy attacks, and another battle is ongoing near Druzheliubivka.

In the Siversk sector, our defenders successfully repelled an enemy attack near Vyymka. With the support of attack aircraft in the Kramatorsk sector, the occupants carried out six assault operations in the areas of Chasiv Yar, Ivanivske and Bila Hora. The situation is under control of the Defense Forces.

In the Toretsk sector, the occupants, supported by fighter bombers, attacked near Dachne and Toretsk nine times. The battle is still ongoing on the outskirts of Shcherbynivka.

High intensity of hostilities continues in the Pokrovsk sector. The number of combat engagements increased to 32. The invaders continue to attack the combat formations of the Ukrainian defenders near Zelene Pole, Marynivka, Krasnyi Yar, Vozdvyzhenka, Novotoretsk, Myroliubivka, Hrodivka, Chervone, Selidove and Novohrodivka. Our defenders repelled 30 enemy attacks, two combat engagements are still ongoing.

The situation is the most intense in the area of Novohrodivka, where nine combat engagements took place over the last day. The aggressor's preliminary losses amounted to 264 occupants killed and wounded, and two prisoners of war were added to the exchange fund. In addition, one tank, five artillery systems, nine vehicles, one special vehicle and ten motor vehicles were destroyed. In addition, six other vehicles and seven artillery systems were damaged.

There are 52 combat engagements in the Kurakhove sector as of this time of day. The occupants tried to advance in the areas of Tsukuryne, Zhelanne Pershe, Heorhiivka, Dalne, Oleksandrivka, Katerynivka and Kostiantynivka. 44 attacks were repelled, eight more are still ongoing.

In the Vremivsk sector, the aggressor stormed the frontline with the support of aviation in the areas of Vuhledar, Prechystivka and Bohoiavlenka 12 times. Two hostile attacks are still ongoing.

In the Orikhiv sector, the aggressor tried to break through the defenses of our troops near Mala Tokmachka, Lobkove and Novodanylivka six times.

In the Prydniprovsk sector, three enemy attempts to seize the positions of our troops failed.

As reported, over the past day alone, the Ukrainian Defense Forces turned 214 pieces of military equipment and weapons of the Russian occupation army into scrap. About 1340 invaders were neutralized during the fighting. In total, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have eliminated approximately 639,480 Russian invaders on our land.
