The Russians are transferring additional units from the territory of the Russian Federation to the Kupinsk-Lyman direction. The enemy is trying to attack using armored vehicles, but the Defense Forces are holding them back, with the fiercest fighting taking place near Raihorodok and Kovalivka.

Ukrainian soldiers are slowly moving forward in the Bakhmut direction. Colonel-General and commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky told the Military Media Center about the situation on the eastern front.

Syrsky noted that the situation in the east remains difficult. In particular, the enemy is increasing its efforts in the Kupiansk-Lyman direction.

"Our units continue to hold back the enemy's offensive in the Kupiansk-Lyman direction. The fiercest fighting is taking place in the areas of Raihorodok and Kovalivka settlements, where the enemy, despite losses, is trying to break through the defense of our troops, using assault squads on armored vehicles. At the same time, the enemy is regrouping and bringing in new units from the territory of the Russian Federation to increase the number and combat effectiveness of its troops," the commander of the Ground Forces said.

No less fierce fighting is taking place in the Bakhmut direction. The Russians are trying to repel the lost positions at any cost. However, the defenders are slowly moving forward.

"There are daily hot battles in the Bakhmut direction. The enemy is trying to regain lost positions at any cost, attacking our units several times a day. We are taking all measures to disrupt the enemy's plans and are gradually moving forward. In particular, intensive fighting is taking place in the areas of Bakhmut, Kurdiumivka, Yahidne and Andriivka. Therefore, special attention today is paid to work in these areas," Syrsky said.

He assured that he analyzes the situation together with the commanders of operational-tactical groups and brigades daily.

"We decide on the actions of our troops on the ground, as well as take all measures for the successful fulfillment of combat tasks. We are doing everything possible for the sake of our Victory. Glory to Ukraine!" Syrsky emphasized.

The General staff of the AFU reported that there were 35 military clashes on the front over the past day on August 30. The defenders continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol direction, consolidate on the achieved borders and carry out measures of counter-battery warfare.

The defenders also continue to inflict losses on the enemy. The AFU hit four enemy SAMs and Solntsepek the day before.
