The enemy continues to increase the pace of offensive actions: the General Staff named the hottest areas of the front

Ukrainian defenders hold back the onslaught of occupation troops

On Monday, July 8, the aggressor country continued to increase the pace of its offensive. The Pokrovsk and Toretsk sectors are currently the hottest spots on the frontline.

This is stated in the report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of 16:00. The enemy is actively using aviation for attacks. The number of combat engagements along the entire frontline has increased to 85.

"Russian invaders are focusing their main efforts on the Pokrovsk direction. More than a third of all the battles took place there. Ukrainian defenders are holding back the onslaught of the occupation troops and inflicting significant losses on the enemy," the General Staff said in a statement.

Situation at the front

The border of Sumy and Chernihiv regions continues to suffer from artillery shelling from the territory of the Russian Federation.

From the direction of Belgorod (Russia), terrorists hit Vovchanski Khutory with a guided aerial bomb. At the same time, our soldiers have repelled five enemy attacks so far.

In the Kupiansk sector, the enemy unsuccessfully stormed the positions of our troops near Stelmakhivka twice. Another battle continues near Berestove. The situation is under control.

In the Lyman sector, the invading army made 10 attacks on Ukrainian positions over the day. Seven engagements ended without success for the enemy, two more are ongoing.

The enemy continues to look for weaknesses in our defense in the Northern sector. He conducted five attacks near Verkhniekamianske and Spirne. He received a tough rebuff. The occupants' losses are being clarified.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the invaders made eight unsuccessful assaults near Chasovyi Yar, Bohdanivka, Hryhorivka, Bila Hora, and Andriivka.

The number of enemy attacks in the Toretsk sector increased to 13. Our troops stopped 12 of them, another battle near New York is still ongoing. The aggressor's aviation is actively working, in particular, the city of Toretsk was bombed, and terrorists attacked Katerynivka with another aerial combat vehicle. The enemy fired 16 unguided missiles at our positions near New York.

The Pokrovsk sector witnessed the highest number of combat engagements. Since the beginning of the day, the occupants have made 30 attempts to push our defenders from their positions. Defense forces are holding back the onslaught and repelled 17 enemy attacks, 13 battles are still ongoing. The enemy is most active near Novooleksandrivka and Novoselivka Persha. The latter, along with Oleksandropil, were attacked by NARs from attack aircraft. Russian terrorists struck the areas of Hrodivka, Vodiane Druhe, and Myroliubivka with multiple rocket launchers.

Four battles near Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka, Kostiantynivka, and Paraskoviivka in the Kurakhove sector are over.

Two firefights continue in the Vremivske sector. Ukrainian defense forces are taking measures to prevent the occupants from advancing deeper into our territory. Russian terrorists used almost two dozen guided aerial bombs in the sector. They also fired from multiple rocket launchers. In particular, near Velyka Novosilka.

In the Orikhiv sector, an enemy attack near Mala Tokmachka was repelled.

In the Prydniprovsk sector, the occupants continue to try to drive the Ukrainian Defense Forces units from their positions on the bridgeheads. Three Russian attacks were unsuccessful. Olhivka and Shevchenkivka were hit by air strikes from Ukrainian drones.

On the morning of July 8, the terrorist country Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine. The enemy fired missiles at Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and other cities.
