The BC warehouse in Karachev was hit: Ukraine uses long-range ATACMS to attack Russian territory for the first time
For the first time, Ukraine has used American long-range ATACMS missiles to strike at Russian territory. The Ukrainian Defense Forces used these weapons to attack a BC depot in the Bryansk region.
A military target in the city of Karachev was successfully hit on the night of November 19. OBOZ.UA learned this from its own sources in the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
According to sources, the Russian Defense Forces have used US ATACMS missiles to hit arsenal 1046 of the logistics center near the city of Karachev, Bryansk region of Russia. This weapon was used for the first time to strike Russian territory after Western media reported that US President Joe Biden had lifted the restrictions previously imposed on US weapons strikes against Russia.
The strike was effective: a legitimate military target was hit.
As reported by OBOZ.UA, the strike on the military arsenal near Karachev, Bryansk region, was an operation of the Defense Forces. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, by 02:30 am, explosions were heard on the territory of the warehouse and a fire and secondary detonation were recorded.
It was also reported that on November 17, it became known that Biden had authorized Ukraine to strike deep into Russia with ATACMS missiles. The New York Times reported, citing US officials, that the lifting of the previously imposed restrictions was a response to Russia's decision to engage North Korean troops in the war. The article also states that this is "a significant change in U.S. policy in the war between Ukraine and Russia."
Meanwhile, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is convinced that the White House's authorization is one of several key steps the West must take to ensure Ukraine's victory in the war with Russia.
