Tarnavsky tells where the Russian army is storming and attacking

Russian occupants in the Tauride sector are focusing their assault and offensive actions on Avdiivka and Novomykhailivka in Donetsk region. The enemy mostly resorts to infantry attacks, almost without the use of armored vehicles.

The commander of the Tavria operational and strategic group of troops (OSG), Oleksandr Tarnavsky, spoke about the situation on his Telegram channel. According to him, after a week of significant enemy aviation activity, as of 6:00 a.m. on January 20, the occupiers did not launch a single air strike over the past day.

Instead, they launched three missile strikes from S-300 air defense systems in Donetsk region and continue to actively use artillery.

"The enemy is focusing assault and offensive actions on Avdiivka and Novomykhailivka. These are mostly infantry attacks, with almost no armored vehicles involved," said Tarnavsky..

In total, the enemy conducted 49 combat engagements and fired 592 artillery shells in the Tavria OSG.

There was one unsuccessful attempt by the enemy to improve the tactical situation south of Zolota Nyva, and three of them were west of Verbove in Zaporizhzhia, the commander said.

Russia's total losses in manpower amounted to 356 people and 13 pieces of weapons and military equipment. In particular, the occupiers lost two artillery systems, three drones, three vehicles and five units of special equipment.

As a reminder, the Tavria direction is the front line in Zaporizhzhia and the southern part of Donetsk region (up to Horlivka). It includes the Melitopol, Berdiansk, Vuhledar, Maryinka, and Avdiivka directions.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, the head of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, said that the losses of Russian troops in the Avdiivka area have increased significantly in recent weeks. And according to US intelligence estimates, since October 2023, the enemy has lost more than 13 thousand people and 220 combat vehicles here.
