Russia's Kharkiv offensive was a failure - US National Security Council

Ukraine has effectively stopped the offensive of the Russian occupiers in the north of the Kharkiv region. The invaders' losses are very high.

This was stated by US National Security Council spokesman Michael Carpenter in an interview with TSN. He called the Russian attempt to attack a failure.

"In fact, this is a failure of the Russian Federation because the number of Russian casualties reported from the northern front is very high, so the Russians did not achieve their goals. Ukraine has stopped Russia, and we hope that Ukraine will continue to exercise its right, which is clearly in line with the UN Charter: the right to defend itself," the US National Security Council representative said.

As a reminder, ISW reported that Russian troops continue to prioritize efforts to engage and consolidate Ukrainian forces in the north of the Kharkiv region. They are redeploying their units to the north of the region from other parts of the front line, probably to launch a new phase of the offensive.

Analysts are convinced that the enemy will delay the implementation of this plan until it gathers enough forces, but even they will not be enough to surround or capture Kharkiv.
