On the night of Tuesday, August 1, Russian occupation troops attacked Kharkiv with kamikaze drones. A series of explosions rang out in the city, after which a fire broke out. One of the enemy UAVs partially destroyed a dormitory, there is an injured person.

The enemy attack was confirmed by the mayor Igor Terekhov. According to him, explosions were heard in Shevchenkivskyi and Saltivskyi districts of the city (to see the photo, scroll to the end of the news).

Local publicks wrote about a fire in the residential sector after the explosions. The regional military administration noted that the cause of the fire was a hit of "Shahed". Emergency services were working at the site.

Terekhov later clarified that there were at least three arrivals - all of them in the city center, in densely populated areas.

"One of the drones destroyed two floors of one of the hostels. There is a fire, units of the state emergency services are working. Information about the victims is now being clarified," he wrote.

The head of the police of Kharkiv region Volodymyr Timoshko told "Suspilne" that there is one wounded man in the center of Kharkiv, his condition is being checked by medics. There was no one in the building of the educational institution, which was hit by one of the UAVs.

According to his information, the Russian Federation attacked Kharkiv 6-7 drones. According to one version, Russia is testing our air defense system.

"There were no military facilities or accumulation of servicemen in the places of hitting," - said Timoshko.

"Suspilne Kharkiv" showed the consequences of the hit "Shahed" on the pedagogical-technical school in Kharkiv. According to preliminary data, there were no people in the building.

According to updated data from the State Emergency Situations Service as of Tuesday morning, two buildings in Kharkiv were destroyed as a result of a nighttime drone attack, and one had a fire.

In particular, an enemy drone hit a three-story building of an educational institution in the city's Saltivskyi district. There was a partial destruction of the structures of the second and third floors, ceiling and roof.

There was also a fire on an area of about 200 square meters. Nine units of equipment and 50 rescuers worked at the scene. Preliminary, there were no people in the destroyed building.

Three more hits were recorded on the territory of a sports complex in Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv, where a two-story building was partially damaged.

"There was no fire. Wounded one man, his condition is being checked by medics. Here units of the State emergency service were involved for inspection", - said the rescuers.
