On Wednesday, January 8, troops of the aggressor country Russia attacked industrial infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia, and a series of explosions occurred in the city. The attack killed one person and injured 30 others.

This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration Ivan Fedorov. He also released footage from the strike site, which shows a powerful fire that engulfed cars and a tram.

The official initially reported one dead person and three wounded, but as of 4:50 p.m., it became known that the number of wounded had increased to 30.

Seven medical teams, police, and rescuers are working at the scene, Fedorov said.

According to Rehina Kharchenko, Secretary of Zaporizhzhia City Council and acting mayor, an invincibility point has been deployed near the epicenter of the attack.

"All people are provided with the necessary assistance. It's a nightmare and another catastrophe for Zaporizhzhia. We believe in the best," she wrote on her Telegram channel.

The air alert in the region was announced at 15:17.

The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the launch of KABs by Russian tactical aviation in the direction of Zaporizhzhia, and the RMA also warned of the threat of high-speed missile strikes on the Zaporizhzhia region.

At 15:42, Ivan Fedorov reported explosions, and at 16:15 – repeated explosions.

As of 16:27, the attack continued, the head of the RMA said.

The alert was lifted at 16:41.

As OBOZ.UA reported earlier, the occupiers killed 11 civilians and injured dozens of others with a powerful missile strike on Zaporizhzhia. A cafe, a private clinic, and a café were destroyed at the site of the attack, and neighboring buildings and cars were damaged.
