Russian troops attacked a village in Kharkiv region with guided aerial bombs: there are casualties and injuries. Photo

On the evening of Monday, 7 August, Russian occupation forces shelled the village of Kruglyakivka in the Kupyansk district of Kharkiv region with four guided aerial bombs. The enemy hit private residential buildings, killing two people and wounding five others.

This was reported by the Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak and the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko (to see the photo, scroll to the bottom of the page). The head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, Oleh Syniehubov, said that the shelling took place around 19:45.

The victims of the shelling were a 45-year-old woman and a 65-year-old man. Two other women and two men were hospitalised with injuries, and one 62-year-old victim was treated on the spot.

As a result of the Russian attack, houses caught fire and there was destruction. When law enforcement and rescuers arrived at the site of the hit, the occupiers fired again, using cluster munitions.

"When special services arrived at the site of the hit, the occupiers fired again with cluster munitions. Two rescuers of the State Emergency Service and a police investigator of Kharkiv region were wounded," wrote Dmytro Lubinets, the Verkhovna Rada Commissioner for Human Rights.

He noted that both guided aerial bombs and cluster munitions are prohibited by the Geneva Conventions.
