Russian troops are trying to advance in the east, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled all attacks near Bakhmut: the main thing about the situation at the front

About 20 combat engagements between the Ukrainian Defence Forces and Russian occupation forces took place on the frontline in Ukraine yesterday. The enemy continues to focus its main efforts on the Kupyansk, Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Maryinka directions, and heavy fighting continues in eastern Ukraine.

The enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions, while the defenders repelled all enemy attacks, in particular, in the area of Berkhivka near Bakhmut. This was stated in the evening report of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook on 13 July.

Russian shelling and the situation at the front

The occupiers launched a missile and air strike on the territory of Ukraine, using 2 Kalibr cruise missiles, 1 Iskander-M ballistic missile and 20 Iranian Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs. Thanks to the successful combat work of anti-aircraft missile units, fighter mobile firing groups of the Air Force and air defence of other components of the Ukrainian Defence Forces, 2 Kalibr cruise missiles and 20 attack drones were destroyed.

In addition, the enemy carried out 46 air strikes and fired about 40 MLRS attacks at the positions of our troops and populated areas. Unfortunately, civilians, including children, were injured, and residential buildings and other civilian and administrative infrastructure were destroyed.

The enemy maintains military presence in the Siversky and Slobozhansky sectors. During the day, it carried out an air strike near Veterinary, Kharkiv region. He fired mortar and artillery shells at more than 15 settlements, including Kamen in Chernihiv region; Pokrovka, Ryasne in Sumy region; and Muravske, Oliynykove, Reznikove, and Bologivka in Kharkiv region.

In the Kupyansk sector, our troops are holding steadfastly the defence. The enemy launched an air strike near Kyslivka in Kharkiv region. Stroyivka, Krasne Pershe, Novomlynsk, Dvorichna, Zakhidne and Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region came under artillery and mortar fire.

In the Lyman sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensives east of Nevska in the Luhansk region and east of Terny in the Donetsk region. It carried out air strikes in the areas of Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region.

More than 10 settlements came under artillery fire, including Nevske and Bilohorivka in Luhansk region and Torske, Verkhnekamiane, Spirne, Rozdolivka in Donetsk region.

In the Bakhmut sector, under heavy fire from enemy aircraft and artillery, our defenders successfully repelled all enemy attacks in the Berkhivka area. More than 15 localities suffered from enemy artillery shelling, including Vasyukivka, Chasiv Yar, Oleksandr-Shultine, Diliyivka and Pivnichne in the Donetsk region.

In the Avdiivka sector, the enemy launched an air strike near Avdiivka and fired artillery at more than 10 localities, including Berdychi, Stepne and Avdiivka in Donetsk region.

In the Maryinka sector, Ukrainian defence forces continue to hold back the Russian offensive in the vicinity of Maryinka, Donetsk region. The enemy fired at more than 10 localities, including Krasnohorivka, Maryinka and Heorhiivka in the Donetsk region.

In the Shakhtarsk sector, the enemy conducted unsuccessful offensive actions in the area of Novomykhailivka and launched an air strike near Makarivka in the Donetsk region. It fired at the settlements of Paraskoviivka, Novomykhailivka, Novoukrainka, Storozheve, Blahodatne and Makarivka in the Donetsk region.

On the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson directions, the enemy is focusing its main efforts on preventing further advance of our troops. It conducted air strikes in the areas of Pryiutne in Zaporizhzhia region and Kozatske in Kherson region. It shelled more than 20 settlements, including Novodarivka, Malynivka, Huliaipole, Zaliznychne, Bilohirya, Orikhiv in Zaporizhzhia region; Zolota Balka, Mykhailivka, Antonivka, Chornobaivka, Kyzomys in Kherson region and Kherson. At the same time, the Ukrainian Defence Forces continue to conduct offensive operations in the Melitopol and Berdiansk directions, consolidating their positions and conducting counter-battery operations.

Russia's losses in the war

Over the past day, the aviation of the defence forces carried out 5 strikes on the areas of concentration of personnel and 2 on the enemy's anti-aircraft missile systems.

During the day, missile and artillery units struck an area where enemy manpower, weapons and military equipment were concentrated, 10 artillery pieces at firing positions and an enemy counter-battery station.

The General Staff also noted that the occupiers continue the practice of artificial resettlement and forced assimilation of Ukrainians in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Thus, in the Genichesk district of Kherson region, the invaders began the forced eviction to Russia of Ukrainian citizens who have not yet acquired or refused to acquire Russian citizenship, including families with children and the elderly. As a rule, the invaders settle their places of residence with representatives of state minorities from low-income groups of the Russian population.

- on the afternoon of 13 July, Russian occupation forces again attacked the border of Sumy region. The attack killed a man, a 60-year-old resident of the village of Popivka;

- Natalia Gumenyuk, head of the Joint Press Centre of the Southern Ukrainian Defence Forces, said that in the occupied territory of Kherson region, the enemy is trying to restore the first line of defence, which was washed away by floods after the Russians blew up the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station, and to pull firing positions closer to the Dnipro river bank. The Ukrainian Defence Forces are thwarting the enemy's plans, destroying its military equipment and manpower.
