Russian strike group may appear in the north in three days: Zhyrokhov points out the danger
Currently, the situation on the border with Belarus and Transnistria does not cause concern, as there is no large concentration of troops of the aggressor country Russia. However, the Russian army has found a way to quickly deploy equipment and personnel over long distances, and the enemy can do so in a matter of days.
At the same time, such actions by the occupier will not come as a surprise to Ukraine's military leadership. This opinion was expressed by military expert Mykhailo Zhyrokhov in an exclusive interview with OBOZ.UA.
"The Belarusian army is in the places of deployment. There are no reinforcements on our border. There are practically no Russians in Belarus. Most of the equipment and personnel have been withdrawn to Russia and further to the front. Even the opposition network "Belaruski Gayun" does not record the presence of Russians in Belarus in "commercial quantities," he said.
However, the expert emphasized that "the threat from the northern direction is not zero. In particular, because the Russian occupation army has developed a mechanism for "transferring large volumes of troops with the help of military transport aircraft."
"Therefore, a strike group can be formed within 3-4 days. Of course, this will not go unnoticed by our intelligence, of course, we will receive Western intelligence. Therefore, it will be impossible to hide the concentration of troops in this area," Zhyrokhov assured.
He added that the Ukrainian army continues to strengthen the defense of the border with Belarus. "General Nayev, who is responsible for the defense of this section of the front, visits here literally every week. From his latest statements, we know that 500,000 anti-personnel and anti-tank mines have been placed, which will be enough to delay possible attacks from Belarus."
As OBOZ.UA wrote, self-proclaimed President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko called Ukraine "our region" and made other ridiculous statements. At the same time, the European Parliament recognized Lukashenko as involved in the aggression against Ukraine and proposed that the International Criminal Court issue an arrest warrant for him.
