Russia launches massive missile attack on Ukraine, with Kinzhals flying at Kyiv and Kharkiv: there is destruction and victims, dozens of people injured. Photo
On the morning of January 2, the terrorist state of Russia took 16 Tu-95MS bomber-missile carriers to the sky and launched missiles at Ukraine, including Kinzhals The missiles were constantly changing their vector, mostly heading for the Kyiv region, where hits and debris fall were recorded.
In addition, Kharkiv was also under fire. Both cities suffered casualties. The large-scale air alert lasted almost four hours.
"Attention! The threat of cruise missile launches from Tu-95MS aircraft. A total of 16 strategic bombers are in the air. Do not ignore the air raid alarms! Take cover!" read the morning message from the Ukrainian Air Force.
According to the monitoring channels, the first entries of three Tu-95MS aircraft into the Caspian region of the Russian Federation were recorded at 05:00 on Tuesday. It was also reported that an additional nine similar aircraft took off from the Engels airfield. Sometime later, four Tu-22M3s took off from Shaykovka. It was noted that there were 21 Russian bombers in the air. At about 05:40, the occupiers launched the first X-101/555/55 missiles from the Caspian Sea.
Later, the whole of Ukraine became "red". At 06:45, the Air Force warned of enemy missiles moving through the Sumy region to Myrhorod (Poltava region).
Subsequently, there were reports of a ballistic missile threat in Kharkiv, a missile flying from the south to Kropyvnytskyi, and an enemy target near Pereiaslav-Khmelnytskyi (Kyiv region) heading west. In addition, missiles were also moving through Kherson, Kropyvnytskyi, Cherkasy, Vinnytsia, and Zhytomyr regions.
The Air Force said that Russia attacked Kyiv and Kharkiv with X-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. Monitoring channels indicated that it was about 10-12 units of such weapons.
Attack on Kyiv
At around 07:15, the first explosions were heard in Kyiv. Damage was recorded in nine districts of the capital as a result of the hit and debris fall of the downed targets. In the Solomianskyi district, a fire and heavy smoke broke out in a high-rise building, from which more than a hundred residents were evacuated. Twenty-eight people were injured, including one woman who died in an ambulance.
Two more people were killed in the Fastiv district of Kyiv region, where a residential building caught fire.
The explosions caused power outages in the Kyiv region and temporarily cut off the water supply.
Attack on Kharkiv
A massive missile attack on Kharkiv resulted in three fires and numerous damages to civilian infrastructure. In particular, a warehouse, a kiosk, items in the basement of a residential building, cars, and gas leaking from a damaged gas pipe were on fire.
According to preliminary data from the State Emergency Service, one person was killed and 41 injured.
