Russia is trying to accumulate stocks of long-range weapons: the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine told what Ukrainians should expect in the autumn-winter period

Russia would like to arrange a new blackout in Ukraine

In the autumn and winter period, the aggressor country Russia intends to continue its missile terror of Ukraine. To this end, the occupiers are now trying to accumulate stocks of long-range weapons.

Vadym Skibitskyi, a representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine, told OBOZREVATEL in an interview. According to him, the occupiers combine different types of weapons during air attacks.

At the same time, the number of missiles in one wave of attack has decreased. At the same time, the invaders imitate launches, use fake targets, and conduct reconnaissance, including space reconnaissance. They are trying to identify gaps to bypass the Ukrainian air defence system or to hit systems to defend against airborne threats.

"Now Russia is again trying to accumulate stockpiles of long-range weapons to continue its missile terror. Thus, I confirm that in the autumn and winter period, the aggressor state intends to attack our critical infrastructure, in particular the energy system. For this purpose, the Russians, among other things, are amassing weapons and conducting reconnaissance to identify priority targets on the territory of our country. Therefore, we also need to prepare and strengthen the protection of our cities and communities. In fact, we are doing this," explained the representative of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine.

He added that Russia would like to arrange a new blackout in Ukraine, using missile weapons and long-range drones like the Shahed.

Skibitsky also spoke about Russian Lancet drones.

"As for the Lancets, these are combat drones designed to destroy our air defence systems, artillery and other weapons at the front. These drones are indeed a problem for our army, but we are trying to find an effective defence against them. FPV drones have proven their effectiveness on the battlefield. They are a cheap and effective weapon. Both we and the enemy are working towards establishing production and systematic training of operators," he concluded.

As OBOZREVATEL previously reported, the spokesman for the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ihnat, said that in autumn and winter, Russia could continue massive attacks on Ukrainian cities and infrastructure. The aggressor will probably rely on kamikaze drones, but missiles will also be used.
