Russia has launched a new attack on Ukraine, firing missiles from Tu-95MS and ballistic missiles: there are arrivals, deaths and dozens of injured. Photos and videos

A Tu-95MS flight was spotted on the territory of the Russian Federation

On January 23, Russia attacked Ukraine with more than 10 Tu-95MS missiles, and the enemy also launched ballistic missiles. The explosions occurred in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Pavlohrad in the Dnipro region.

In the capital, cars and apartments were burning, and in Kharkiv, the enemy destroyed the entrance of a high-rise building. In all three cities, there were reports of dead and wounded.

Early in the morning, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported the threat of missile attacks.

"There is a missile danger in the southern and eastern regions due to the threat of cruise missile launches from Tu-95MS aircraft. Do not ignore the air raid alarms! We will inform you about the change in the situation additionally!" the statement reads.

Around 05:30, monitoring channels reported the first launches.

"Preliminary launches of Kh-101/555/55 type missiles from Tu-95 from the Saratov region have been made. We expect the cruise missiles to enter the airspace in an hour," the message, which appeared at 05:27, said.

At 06:02, the Air Force said that the first group of Russian missiles entered Ukrainian airspace in Sumy region, moving in the direction of Poltava region.

In particular, the residents of Myrhorod were warned of the danger: a missile, probably an Kh-59, was moving in the direction of the city.

In addition, as of 06:00 a.m., a Tu-22m3 was reported to have taken off from the Shaikovka airfield (Kaluga region).

"Preliminary in the airspace of the Russian Federation - 2 Tu-22M3 from the airfield Olenya (Murmansk region) and 2 Tu-22M3 from the airfield Shaikovka (Kaluga region). Another missile is in Sumy region, heading west. The first missile entered the airspace of Cherkasy region, heading west," the Air Force said at 06:17.

As of 06:25, the first group of missiles was recorded on the border of Kyiv and Cherkasy regions, heading southwest.

The second was in the northern part of Poltava region, heading southwest.

At 06:33, according to the Ukrainian Air Force, the first group of missiles entered the airspace of Vinnytsia region, heading west. The second group was recorded on the border of Poltava and Kyiv regions, heading west.

"The missiles are moving along the border of Kyiv and Cherkasy regions," the Air Force added.

At 06:44, the Ukrainian Air Force reported possible re-launches of cruise missiles from Tu-95MS from the Caspian Sea, and that the first group of missiles from Vinnytsia region turned northwest, toward Starokostiantyniv, Khmelnytsky region.

At 06:49, the first group of missiles in the Vinnytsia region changed course to the north. The second group entered the airspace of Vinnytsia region, heading southwest.

At 06:55, the first group of missiles in Zhytomyr region changed course to Kyiv.

Around 5 a.m., the Telegram channel "Mykolaiv Vanek" stated that 12 TU-95MS aircraft were spotted in the air. They were flying in two groups of six toward the Caspian Sea. At the time of the report, the missile carriers were in the airspace of the Saratov region.

After 05:15, an air alert was declared in the regions of Ukraine: "The country began to turn red in the south and east. Around 05:45, the alert also covered the center and north, and after 06:10 it spread to the western regions.

Consequences of the Russian missile attack

As of 08:45 a.m., at least five people were wounded and about 40 injured in the Russian missile attack on Ukraine, Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko said.

After 7 a.m., explosions were heard in Kyiv: according to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhiy Popko, air defense forces were working there.

According to the KCMA, the missile strike in the Svyatoshinsky district caused parked cars to catch fire, damaged two houses, and started fires in several apartments.

In the Pechersk district, a plane has landed in a non-residential building.

At 8 a.m., five people were reported injured. Later, the number of casualties increased to nine , and the KCMA reported a death.

Klymenko added that the consequences of the attack were also recorded in the Kyiv region: two multi-storey buildings, a private house, outbuildings and cars were damaged in Bucha district. Three people were injured.

Explosions were also reported in Pavlohrad, Dnipropetrovsk region . There are also injuries and one civilian killed.

A series of air strikes were also reported in Kharkiv. Four of them hit the suburbs of the regional center. Residential buildings in the private sector were damaged. According to preliminary reports, children sustained shrapnel wounds, and one woman was also injured.

The invaders also destroyed a sanatorium school for sick children in another district. One of the rockets hit a gas pipeline. The enemy also fired at a health camp in Balakliya, according to preliminary data, with two S-300 missiles.

According to Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov, the enemy completely destroyed the entrance of an apartment building in the regional center.

"Now rescuers are trying to dismantle the rubble to find people under it. Also, one of the most affected parts of Kyiv district has no electricity and partially no water. Relevant services are working to eliminate the consequences of enemy shelling," Terekhov wrote at 07:44.

As of 08:30, two women were reported dead. At least 28 people were injured, some of them seriously.

Meanwhile, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, two high-rise buildings in Kharkiv were damaged, killing at least three people.

"Kharkiv: occupants hit two multi-storey buildings. According to preliminary data, three people were killed and about 30 others were injured. Rescuers are inspecting the damaged buildings and dismantling the rubble. Psychologists are working at the scene. Police investigators are carefully recording these crimes," Klymenko wrote.

He added that on the morning of January 23, "another terrorist attack took place, which claimed lives and left hundreds of people homeless."

"This is Russia's true intentions: daily terror of civilians," the official summarized.

As a reminder, at about 4 a.m. on January 23, Russian troops attacked Kharkiv with ballistic missiles. Explosions were heard in the city. As it became known later, the occupiers hit residential and civilian areas of Kharkiv. It is known about one damaged building. Specialized services immediately began working at the scene.
