Russia has launched a massive attack on Ukraine

On the morning of Friday, March 22, the Russian army took off with Tu-95MS strategic bombers and launched X-101/555/55 cruise missiles. Over time, explosions were heard in many Ukrainian cities: air defense was operating, but there were also arrivals.

This was reported in the Telegram channel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. An air alert was declared over most of the country – before that, the Russians launched Shahed-type attack UAVs.

"Cruise missile launches were recorded from the Caspian Sea region. The estimated time of entry into the airspace is around 05.00," the military said in a statement.

According to monitoring channels, about 13 Tu-95 bombers took off from the Olenya airfield (Murmansk region of the Russian Federation).

The terrorist state Russia used 151 means of air attack: 63 Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones and 88 missiles, including ballistic missiles. The defenders of the sky destroyed 92 enemy targets – 55 Shaheds and 37 missiles.

This was the largest attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure in recent times, with strikes in Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Khmelnytskyi, Lviv, Prykarpattia, Dnipro, Poltava, Mykolaiv, and Odesa regions.

The strikes destroyed infrastructure facilities and buildings, as well as civilian casualties and injuries.

In particular, the enemy struck twice at the Dnipro hydroelectric power plant in Zaporizhzhia, damaging the hydroelectric facilities and the dam. Ukrhydroenergo assured that there is no threat of a dam breach.

As a result of Russia's massive attack, damage to power generation facilities, transmission, and distribution systems was recorded in various regions of Ukraine. One of the power lines supplying ZNPP was cut off due to the shelling.
