Russia has begun to build up forces in the Kupyansk sector: the Ukrainian Armed Forces explained what is going on

In the Kupyansk sector, the Russian invaders are preparing to intensify their assault operations. Currently, the Russian command is redeploying assault units there, as it relies on manpower rather than equipment.

In general, the occupation forces are active along the entire contact line in the Kupyansk and Lyman sectors, yesterday the Defense Forces eliminated more than 200 invaders and 23 units of enemy equipment there. This was stated by Volodymyr Fitio, Head of Public Relations of the Land Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, during a telethon.

According to him, yesterday Ukrainian soldiers repelled seven enemy attacks in the Kupyansk and Lyman sectors: the invaders are active along the entire contact line in the area of responsibility of the Khortytsia operational and strategic group of troops.

At the same time, there are signs that Russia is going to intensify its assault operations.

"The enemy is now moving its assault units to the Kupyansk direction in order to intensify assault operations. Still, they are relying more on the human factor than on equipment," he said.

According to Fitio, the occupants are currently trying to capture the village of Synkivka to organize a foothold for a further offensive on Kupyansk.

In the Kupyansk sector, the invaders are actively using aviation: they carried out 17 air strikes over the last day. In addition, the occupants attacked the Defense Forces with 16 kamikaze drones and carried out 477 artillery and mortar attacks.

According to Fitio, the Russian invaders in the area use the equipment for fire support or as transportation. However, with the help of accurate strikes, in particular with drones, Ukrainian soldiers are effectively reducing its number.

"Our defenders managed to reduce the number of Russian occupants on Ukrainian soil by 224 people, destroying 23 pieces of equipment, including one tank and three armored personnel carriers," he said.

As a reminder, the day before, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 900 occupants at the frontline in a day. The defenders also destroyed 39 units of Russian equipment and weapons.

In addition, it was reported that the Ukrainian Defense Forces continue assault operations south of Bakhmut and hold the defense of Avdiivka . There were 95 combat engagements over the day, about a third of them in the Avdiivka sector.
