Precise work: Air Force commander shows how AFU shot down drones in the east of Ukraine. Video
Ukrainian Air Force commander Mykola Oleshchuk showed a video of a Shahed attack drone being shot down in the east. The UAV, which was shot down by Ukrainian soldiers, spiraled down to the ground, leaving a trail of smoke, and then exploded.
The spectacular footage was posted on the commander's Telegram. He reminded that enemy missiles and attack UAVs pose a serious threat even after being shot down.
As a reminder, the drone attack on Ukraine staged by the Russians last night was one of the most massive in terms of the number of Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs. The enemy used the same number of attack drones only back on New Year's Eve, January 1, 2024.
The invaders launched 89 Shahed drones and one X-59 guided missile against Ukraine. All air targets were destroyed by the defenders of the Ukrainian sky. According to Oleshchuk, the occupants launched air targets from the areas of Yeysk, Seshcha, Kursk, and Prymorsko-Akhtarsk.
As reported, on the night of July 30-31, Russia attacked Kyiv region with kamikaze drones. In particular, in the Brovary district, the wreckage of a destroyed enemy drone fell on a residential building, causing a fire.
During the Russian drone shelling of Ukraine, which began in the evening of July 30, drones violated Belarus airspace again. Because of this, the Belarusian army scrambled a fighter jet from the Baranovichi airfield at about 23:50 on Tuesday.
