On the evening of May 19, explosions were heard in the area of Mariupol, temporarily occupied by Russia, in the Donetsk region. According to preliminary data, the "cotton" visited the local airfield.

This was reported by Petro Andriushchenko, an adviser to the city's legitimate mayor, on his Telegram channel. The published footage shows a fire and smoke.

At the same time, Russian propagandists have already claimed that the aircraft was "operating air defence systems".

"Even air defence did not help. Despite the attempt, our people report arrivals between the village of Agrobaza (which actually borders the city) and the city," Andriushchenko wrote.

One of the propaganda channels wrote that "four rockets flew into the area of the old airport in Mariupol".

"There are no casualties. It is not possible to say what kind of missiles they were, experts are working on the spot," the message said.

Journalist Andriy Tsapliyenko said that according to one version, the missiles were aimed at the barracks of Russian troops near the airport. In addition, according to him, a few hours before the missiles hit, the occupiers moved helicopters from Bryansk to the Mariupol airport.

As reported by OBOZREVATEL, explosions on the railway in the temporarily occupied Crimea could disrupt the supply of missiles to the Russian Black Sea Fleet. "Cotton" blocked the only railway line to the port of Sevastopol.
