NATO countries are considering the possibility of protecting the airspace of the western regions of Ukraine. For this purpose, the anti-aircraft missile systems of the North Atlantic Alliance members can be used.

It is noteworthy that the initiator of this idea is allegedly Poland. This was reported by the German edition of BILD.

According to sources, there are no final decisions yet, as the West continues to study this possibility. Moreover, NATO is negotiating to strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities in other areas.

In particular, some NATO countries are ready to expand their support for Kyiv and act directly on the territory of Ukraine. Estonia, the United Kingdom, Poland, Canada, Lithuania, and France are in favor of expanding assistance. The United States and Germany are against it.

In addition to closing the skies over western Ukraine, the Alliance is discussing training Ukrainian military personnel by NATO instructors directly on the territory of Ukraine. According to the former head of the German Ministry of Defense's operational headquarters, Nico Lange, it is more reasonable and economical to send instructors to Ukraine rather than to transport hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian soldiers across Europe for training. It is noteworthy that the day before, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis expressed similar thoughts.

NATO is also considering changing its logistics. The West wants to make the supply of weapons to the front more efficient and effective.

Several NATO countries, including the United Kingdom, Canada, and Estonia, are ready to deliver weapons and ammunition not only to Ukraine's borders but also further to the front line in the future. Several Western countries are currently developing the concept of advanced logistics.

As a reminder, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that NATO countries could shoot down Russian missiles over Ukraine if they were flying in the direction of Western countries. A decision similar to the one made for Israel during the Iranian shelling is possible, but it requires a will.

Earlier, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that no legal, moral, or security arguments prevent or can prevent Western partners from shooting down Russian missiles over Ukraine from their territory. Anyone who claims otherwise and talks about the threat of escalation is engaged in manipulation.

By the way, Poland has responded to Ukraine's request for assistance in shooting down Russian missiles. The Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that this issue can be discussed. At the same time, the ministry noted that many conditions would need to be taken into account.
