On the morning of August 18, the Russian terrorist army launched a series of missile attacks on the Kyiv region. Air defense forces shot down most of the targets, but the falling debris caused destruction.
The shelling damaged residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure. This was reported by the press service of the Kyiv regional police.
As of 9:30 a.m., law enforcement officers are inspecting and recording the destruction of two buildings, as well as damage to 16 other buildings and four vehicles. No civilians were killed or injured.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine added that rescuers continue to eliminate the consequences of enemy shelling. They are providing assistance to citizens from destroyed and damaged residential buildings. Pyrotechnicians and psychologists are also working at the impact site.
The Regional Military Administration stated that there were no hits to critical and residential infrastructure. However, as a result of the falling debris of the downed targets in one of the communities, destruction and damage to houses in three garden societies were recorded.
In addition, the debris damaged 4 cars, fences and power lines. In one of the societies, a fire on the grass flooring was extinguished.

The Kyiv Regional Prosecutor's Office said that after the morning shelling, a pre-trial investigation on the violation of the laws and customs of war (Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) was launched. Investigators, prosecutors and experts are documenting Russia's war crime.
