Opened fire to destroy: border guards repel attack of enemy subversive reconnaissance group in Sumy region

In Sumy region, border guards repelled Russian saboteurs' attempts to sneak deep into Ukraine. Having spotted an enemy sabotage and reconnaissance group, the defenders opened fire.

The occupiers made an attempt to break through the border on April 14. This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service on its official website.

They emphasized that the activity of Russian subversive groups on the border in Sumy region remains quite high. To counteract the saboteurs, the Defense Forces units are using all possible countermeasures.

On Sunday, border guards performing a combat mission at one of the state border areas in Sumy region detected several members of an enemy subversive group trying to enter Ukraine from the territory of the aggressor state.

The saboteurs immediately opened deadly fire. The invaders retreated, shooting back with small arms.

The SBGSГ added that both border guards and soldiers of other components of the Defense Forces are doing everything necessary to protect Ukrainian territory from the Russian aggressor.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, in mid-March, the defenders stopped three enemy subversive reconnaissance groups in Sumy region. A few days earlier, Ukrainian soldiers opened fire on Russian saboteurs who were trying to approach the right bank of the Dnipro River in Kherson region near the Antonivskyi Bridge under the cover of night.
