Occupiers hit critical infrastructure in Kherson: gas network burst, seven people injured. Video

On the evening of Saturday, December 23, Russian troops launched a massive attack on Kherson. Several districts were shelled, fires broke out as a result of the attacks, and at least seven civilians were injured.

A gas network burst on one of the streets near residential buildings. The huge flames were higher than the trees. The head of the Kherson Regional Military administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, spoke about the consequences of the attack on Telegram.

According to Prokudin, the occupiers hit the city's critical infrastructure.

One of the medical institutions also came under enemy fire.

As of 21:52 on Saturday, seven people were injured. Prokudin said that three Kherson residents (78, 68 and 63 years old) were treated by doctors on the spot.

Two men, aged 21 and 39, were hospitalized. Their condition is of moderate severity.

There is also a 15-year-old child among the victims. There are no details about her condition yet.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported at about 23:10 that the consequences of the shelling had been eliminated, although the Russian Armed Forces hampered the work of firefighters with repeated strikes.

"Due to the shelling, a gas pipe was depressurized with subsequent combustion. A balcony in a high-rise building and a private house also caught fire," the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine informed.

The head of the city military administration, Roman Mrochko, said on his Facebook account that the explosions occurred in different districts of Kherson around 18:00.

"The enemy traditionally hit residential areas," the head of the city administration said.

The official Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine added that explosions have been heard in the city all day.

One of the enemy's shells hit a high-rise building. The blast wave damaged the front door of the apartment, so the owner could not leave the apartment on his own. Rescuers saved him.
