Moved to more favorable positions: General Staff on the situation in Kharkiv region

On May 15, Ukrainian defenders in the Kharkiv sector moved to more favorable positions in certain areas near Lukiantsi and Vovchansk as a result of enemy fire and assault operations to save the lives of our servicemen. The fighting continues.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook, describing the situation as of 23:00 on Tuesday, May 15. The agency reported 11 repulsed attacks by the invaders, in particular, in the areas of Hlyboke - Lyptsi, Lukiansti - Lyptsi, Borysivka - Neskuchne, Shebekino (RF) - Vovchansk.

As of 23:00, three combat clashes were still ongoing. "Ukrainian units are not allowing the Russian occupants to gain a foothold. Counterattacks are underway, the enemy is under constant fire control of artillery and UAV units of the Defense Forces," the press service assured.

In the course of combat operations in the Kharkiv sector, Russian Armed Forces had 162 losses in manpower over the last day. Twenty-six pieces of enemy weapons and military equipment were destroyed and damaged.

At the same time, in the north of Ukraine, in Chernihiv and Sumy regions, there were no changes in the status and position of troops.

As previously reported, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said that the engineer troops would constantly equip defensive lines along the entire line of contact with the enemy, and in particular along the border between Ukraine and Russia. Since the beginning of 2024, "tens of thousands of mines have been laid in Kharkiv region alone."
