Moscow wants to expel the IAEA from Zaporizhzhia NPP: "Energoatom" accuses Russia of nuclear terrorism

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the aggressor state of Russia has threatened to suspend the work of the IAEA mission at the Zaporizhzhia NPP in Enerhodar, temporarily seized by its troops. Ukraine responded to the enemy's threats and called them an "act of nuclear terrorism."

This is stated in a statement by the national nuclear power generating company "Energoatom," published on November 15 on the Telegram channel. The Russian threats followed a statement by CEO Rafael Grossi, who said that experts would remain at the plant "until the war is frozen."

At the same time, the aggressor state claimed that the agency's mission was at ZNPP only with its consent. At the same time, "Energoatom" emphasized that the presence of IAEA experts at the Energodar NPP, as well as at other nuclear power plants, is the result of an agreement between President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Rafael Grossi.

Unlike Russia, which continues to act as a nuclear terrorist state, ignoring international laws and rules, Ukraine demonstrates openness and willingness to cooperate, the company emphasized.

"Threats to stop the work of the IAEA mission at ZNPP confirm that the Kremlin has no intention of complying with any international law. The seizure of ZNPP, deployment of military and equipment there, shelling of critical infrastructure, and manipulation of energy security are direct evidence of Russia's nuclear terrorism," the statement said.

Energoatom added that the IAEA's work at ZNPP is a matter not only of Ukraine's security but also of the world.

Earlier, the National Resistance Center said that the occupiers continue to use ZNPP as an ammunition depot, despite the recent visit of the IAEA mission to the facility. Representatives of this organization were allowed only to go where the Russian occupiers allowed, without the slightest deviation from the route drawn up by the Russians.

Therefore, they did not notice the accumulation of the Russian military, just as the IAEA did not notice the use of the ZNPP as a training ground for FPV drones.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on September 20, the IAEA adopted a resolution according to which Zaporizhzhia NPP should operate under the control of Ukraine. The document was co-authored by 52 member states of the agency. The agency calls for the immediate withdrawal of Russian military and other personnel from the plant.
