The aggressor country of Russia has deceived more than 90 Indian citizens into fighting in Ukraine, and at least eight of them have already been killed. Many of them realized that they were in the war only after arriving at the front - this is how the Russian recruitment scheme works.

Vikramjit Singh Sahneib, a member of the Indian parliament, told Rain. According to him, out of 83 surviving Indians, 13 have already left the Russian armed forces.

"But we still have 69 or 70 people there. We have not yet been able to return the bodies of the dead or identify them, because these people are in a hot spot, and we do not even know where they are," the politician said.

Sahneib said that Russia began such illegal recruitment of young Indians to the combat zone even before the outbreak of a full-scale war in Ukraine - they were recruited under the pretext of being transported abroad to work. After February 24, 2022, the fraudsters became more confident, some of them coordinating the recruitment of Indians while in the Russian army.

Prices for transportation abroad range from one to 12 thousand euros. Upon arrival in Russia, foreigners are forced to sign a contract with the Russian Defense Ministry without an interpreter and then sent to the front.

"In July, Modi met with Putin, who promised to release Indian citizens, but this did not affect the situation of Indians who were fighting. In addition, Russia has promised compensation and citizenship to the families of the victims," the journalists report. However, Indians do not want to live in the country where they lost their loved ones.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation with Kremlin dictator Vladimir Putin, during which they discussed the war in Ukraine. Modi shared his impressions of his recent visit to Ukraine.
