"Let's focus on what a person does": Office of the President reacted to the scandal with Syrskyi due to his Russian origin
The Office of the President commented on propaganda speculation about the Russian origin of the newly appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi. They called on society to judge a person by his or her actions, not by his or her place of birth.
The statement was made by Mykhailo Podolyak, an adviser to the head of the Presidential Office, on the UNIAN TV channel. He noted that it is very strange to blame a person for being born in a certain place, or for the fact that people for whom they are not responsible live there.
The advisor also noted that no one mentioned Syrskyi's background when he led the liberation operations in Kyiv and Kharkiv regions.
"Let's focus on what a person does, not where he was born, where part of his family lives... In my opinion, Syrskyi has a very clear, specific biography of a person who knows how to conduct successful anti-Russian military operations. In addition, he belongs to the category of workaholics, he is constantly at the forefront, constantly inside the war," Podolyak added.
Oleksandr Syrskyi was born in the village of Novinki, Vladimir region (U.S.S.R.) and studied at a military school in Moscow. His relatives still live in Russia. The propagandists decided to use the facts of the military leader's biography related to the Russian Federation to their advantage.
The international intelligence community InformNapalm noted that at the same time, the Russians admitted that he had not been in contact with his family for a long time and had actually lived in Ukraine, building a career, all his life.
