Kyslytsia at the UN: Ukraine is fighting the same aggressor who organized the deadly famine 90 years ago

Ukraine is fighting the same aggressor who organized the Holodomor 90 years ago, Kyslytsia said

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has chosen genocidal tactics in an attempt to subjugate the Ukrainian people, just as Stalin did 90 years ago.

This was stated by the Permanent Representative of the Ukrainian state to the United Nations, Serhii Kyslytsia, on November 16 during his speech at an event at the UN headquarters dedicated to the anniversary of the Holodomor in Ukraine. His words were quoted by the Ukrinform news agency.

The Ukrainian diplomat recalled that Stalin resorted to total confiscation of food and starved the people of our country. And dictator Putin gave a criminal order to invade the territory of Ukraine with his occupation troops.

Kyslytsia noted that Ukraine is now dealing with the same aggressor who organized an artificial famine in our country 90 years ago.

However, the current struggle of the Ukrainian people is different in that the entire civilized world is now supporting us.

The representative of Ukraine proposed that the members of the meeting sign the Declaration on the occasion of the anniversary of the Holodomor to show solidarity with our people and honor the memory of the people who died because of the Holodomor organized by Stalin.

The events of those years, Kyslytsia said, should remind future generations of the observance of human rights to prevent such tragedies from happening again. The diplomat added that this is a signal of the need to prevent the use of food as a weapon.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, The Independent stated that Russia was actively preparing to steal grain stocks and starve Ukrainians several months before the full-scale invasion. In this regard, Russian President Vladimir Putin is facing another arrest warrant.
