"It's still an early phase": British analyst points out an important nuance with the counterattack by the AFU

In the States assessed the prospect of a counterattack

Former British Army intelligence and security officer Philip Ingram stated that the Defense Forces may have advanced a kilometer in the direction of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine during the counterattack. At present, the front line has extended for about 600 kilometers.

Against this background, talk about the success of the Ukrainian army of one kilometer does not seem so rosy, but the "Wagnerites" under the leadership of the odious Yevgeny Prigozhin every 1000 meters in the direction of Bakhmut were given extremely difficult, for several months. The analyst's words are reported by SkyNews.

"And it is important to note that this is an early phase. It is too early to talk about the results, but the initiative is in the hands of the Ukrainian side, they continue their counteroffensive, although slower than announced," he stressed.

At the same time, Ingram pointed out that Russian troops have a notable superiority in mining territories. In this matter, the defenders of Ukraine are faced with a complex sabotage system, multi-level anti-tank trenches.

Earlier OBOZREVATEL reported that the Institute for the Study of War pointed to the advance of Ukrainian soldiers on the flanks near Bakhmut, on the administrative border of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions, as well as in Zaporizhzhia itself, on the line Mala Tokmachka - Ocheretuvate.

General Zaluzhny also expressed his point of view about the "delayed" counterattack. He appealed to foreign partners not to "bet on the show" but to supply our army with weapons.
