"It is quite fair to hit Russian airfields back": Zelenskyy explains how to stop the terrorist state
Over the past week, Russia has dropped over 600 guided bombs on Ukraine. The military of the terrorist state targeted civilians in Zaporizhzhia, Kharkiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Donetsk and other regions of our country.
And this terror can be stopped by destroying Russian aviation not only in the Ukrainian sky but also at Russian airfields using all available means. Only a joint decision with Western partners is needed for this, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy is convinced.
Traditionally, the head of state posted photos and videos of the consequences of Russian shelling in Ukraine on his Telegram channel. Damaged houses, burned cars, deep craters, hit critical infrastructure facilities, and innocent victims of Russian aggression were a daily reality for Ukrainians in the last days of July and early August.
The President is convinced that Russian terror must be put to an end. Therefore, the defeat of enemy military aircraft is one of the priority tasks for the Defense Forces.
"Russian combat aviation must be destroyed where it is by all means that are effective. It is also quite fair to hit Russian airfields back. And we need this joint solution with our partners, a security solution. This is the only way to ensure protection for our people," Zelenskyy said.
Currently, Western partners, primarily the United States, have imposed strict restrictions on the use of Western weapons to strike military targets in Russia. In particular, because of these restrictions, Russian airfields from which planes take off to strike Ukraine are outside the target area. This allows them to continue their terror.
"This week alone, Russia has used more than 600 guided bombs against Ukraine. We must stop this daily Russian terror with strong joint decisions," Zelenskyy urged.
As a reminder, since the Ukrainian Defense Forces cannot strike Russian airfields with Western weapons, they do so with their own means, including drones. Thus, on the night of August 3, strong explosions were heard near the military airfield Morozovsk in the Rostov region.
According to the international intelligence community InformNapalm and OSINT investigators, the fire occurred on the territory of the parking lot of Russian fighter jets. According to preliminary data, the enemy has lost a number of aircraft.
In addition, numerous fires were recorded at the Russian airfield as a result of secondary detonation after the attack.
The Atlas plant, which belongs to the Office of the Federal Agency for State Reserves in the Southern Federal District and is located in the Astakhov rural settlement of the Kamensky district, was also hit. This plant specializes in the storage of petroleum products. In particular, it provides them to the Russian army.
Rostov Oblast Governor Golubev said that "55 Ukrainian UAVs attacked the territory of Rostov region."
The Belgorod region of the Russian Federation also complained about a drone attack . An oil depot was hit there and the local governor reported that one of the tanks was on fire.
The General Staff confirmed the damage to the airfield and oil depots in three regions of Russia. The exact consequences of the attack, they added, are currently being clarified.
