It is critical for winning the war: WSJ noted the success of the SSU in the hunt for traitors to Ukraine

There used to be a lot of Russian agents in Ukraine

The Security Service of Ukraine has exposed more than 2,000 state traitors since the beginning of the large-scale war. Such activities are critical to Ukraine's victory.

The Wall Street Journal reports about it. SSU Head Vasyl Maliuk noted that there used to be a lot of Russian agents in Ukraine.

"Russian agents used to grow in Ukraine like cancer cells. Today, the SSU is like a surgeon who cleanses the Ukrainian land of traitors and spies," he said.

According to Maliuk, one of the main tasks of Kremlin agents is to collect information about military facilities, including military bases and ammunition depots. That is why neutralizing traitors is critical for Ukraine's victory in the war with Russia.

The publication clarifies that traitors often work for money, but sometimes they are recruited using torture or threats in the occupied territories. This includes those who adjusted Russian missile strikes on Ukrainian military and energy facilities, high-ranking officials who worked for Russia, and those who wanted to help the Kremlin eliminate President Volodymyr Zelensky.

As OBOZ.UA previously reported, SSU officers exposed and detained an agent of the Russian FSB in Kyiv. The offender wanted to join the "Army of Drones" school to continue spying on the Ukrainian military.
