General Staff confirms attack on military arsenal in Bryansk region: ammunition and CABs were stored there
On the night of October 9, the Ukrainian Defense Forces conducted effective strikes on the occupiers' military arsenal in the village of Karachev, Bryansk region of the Russian Federation. The invaders were storing ammunition for rocket and artillery weapons, including those from the DPRK and Iran, as well as guided aerial bombs, some of which were kept in the open.
After the attack, explosions began on the territory of the arsenal, and local authorities blocked the road near the facility. The defeat was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
"Last night, units of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in cooperation with other components of the Defense Forces, struck the 67th arsenal of the Main Missile and Artillery Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation in the Bryansk region. According to the available information, the arsenal was storing ammunition for rocket and artillery weapons, including those from the DPRK, as well as guided aerial bombs. A significant part of them was stored in the open air," the General Staff said.
After the successful strike, the detonation of ammunition began at the facility. Local authorities were forced to block the road near the arsenal. Details on the consequences of the attack are currently being clarified.
"The destruction of such arsenals creates serious logistical problems for the Russian army, which significantly reduces the offensive potential of the occupiers in threatening areas," the General Staff added, traditionally assuring that "to be continued."
At the same time, the Unmanned Systems Forces clarified that the occupiers used the blown-up arsenal to store and modernize artillery and missile weapons, including those provided by Iran.
"There are not many such facilities – about two dozen on the entire territory of the Russian Federation, each of which stores tens of thousands of tons of ammunition. The forces of unmanned systems continue to undermine the offensive potential of the enemy, bringing our victory closer," the military noted.
Early in the morning of October 9, it became known that a munitions depot in the Bryansk region, which could have contained ammunition from the DPRK, was attacked. A fire was seen and a powerful detonation was heard.
The Russian Ministry of Defense traditionally did not mention the destruction of the arsenal, but instead boasted of dozens of "downed" Ukrainian drones. This caused hysteria among Russians, who, on the one hand, did not believe in the infallibility of Russian air defense, and on the other hand, fantasized about "strikes on Bankova" in response to the defeat of a legitimate military target.
