"For the first time in history": HIMARS destroys Russian ZALA UAV with a direct hit. Video

Ukrainian warriors continue to impress with the filigree use of Western weapons to destroy military equipment and manpower of the Russian occupiers. This time, they destroyed a Russian ZALA UAV with a direct hit from HIMARS, which happened for the first time in history.

The drone, which is used by the Russians to conduct reconnaissance and target their attack drones, was eliminated along with the crew. An impressive video of the defeat was shown in the Operational Command "West" (to view it, scroll to the end).

"For the first time in history! HIMARS destroyed a Russian ZALA UAV with a direct hit... Our soldiers found the UAV's landing site and destroyed the crew and the installation with a precise strike. It was a filigree job," the Zakhid Command noted.

The strike was carried out when the Russians were working with the drone in the field. The destruction was spectacular and lightning fast.

"A fat target, they are not only conducting reconnaissance, but also aiming Lancets," commented Anatoliy Shtefan, an officer of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Russian ZALA drones are named after the manufacturer, ZALA AERO. They are designed as flying wings and equipped with a daytime camera with 60x optical zoom and a thermal imaging module.

Such a drone can stay in the air for up to four hours.

Earlier, British intelligence explained how Russia uses its Lancet UAVs in the war against Ukraine. Previously, the occupiers used these drones mainly for reconnaissance. However, the further they go, the more often they not only detect targets but also hit them. Therefore, the Lancets, according to British intelligence, have become evidence of changes in Russia's approaches to the use of UAVs in counter-battery warfare, they are used to destroy priority targets, such as enemy artillery.
