"Even before taking office": Trump issues new plan to end war in Ukraine

US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump has said that if he wins the election, he will end the war in Ukraine before he officially takes office - his inauguration is scheduled for January 20, 2025. His plan is to cut energy prices by half or more.

Trump said this during a speech at the New York Economic Club, according to The Singju Post. He wants to achieve this result within 12 months of taking office.

"When Putin has a barrel (of oil - Ed.) at $100, the war works. At $40 per barrel, it will not work at all," the politician said.

In this way, he intends to end high energy prices, which allow Russia to continue to finance its war against Ukraine.

Trump expressed confidence that he could end "this terrible war."

"If we win, I believe I can end this war as president-elect before I even officially take office. I can stop this war because it is a terrible, terrible war. And there are far more people being killed in Ukraine than you realize," he said.

Earlier, Donald Trump said he could "stop any war with a phone call." In particular, he assures that he will end "this terrible war between Russia and Ukraine." At the same time, the presidential candidate accused Joe Biden's administration of having "created" Russia's aggression against Ukraine.

However, even those around him do not believe that he understands what he is talking about. For example, former Trump adviser John Bolton said that Trump has no idea how to end the war in Ukraine.
