Dive into the depths: the DIU confirms the downing of a Russian Su-30SM fighter jet in the Black Sea and shows a video

On September 11, in the Black Sea, our defenders from the DIU special forces destroyed a Russian Su-30SM combat aircraft. The aircraft was hit by a successful shot from a man-portable air defense missile system.

The enemy fighter crashed into the sea. The operation was confirmed by the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate on its official website.

The occupiers lost contact with their flight around 5 a.m. on September 11. Approximately three hours later, the Russians launched a search and rescue operation involving an An-26 airplane and Mi-8 and Ka-27 helicopters.

In the afternoon, the hijackers reported to the command that they had spotted a distinctive aviation fuel stain in the sea, 70 kilometers northwest of Cape Tarkhankut. Soon they saw the wreckage of the downed aircraft.

The Su-30SM belonged to the 43rd Separate Naval Aviation Regiment of the Russian Aerospace Forces, based at the airfield of Saki in the temporarily occupied Crimea.

"The cost of such an aircraft is approximately 50 million dollars. The struggle continues! Glory to Ukraine!" the Defense Intelligence wrote.
