Cyber specialists of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine have organized a large-scale Internet failure in Russia. As a result, many Russian citizens were left without communication and the Internet.
This was reported to OBOZ.UA by intelligence sources. In particular, the DIU specialists attacked the systems of one of the largest mobile and Internet operators in Russia, MegaFon, which is involved in supporting Russian aggression against Ukraine.

Due to the attack, the company's customers had problems with communication and the Internet throughout the day on Friday, January 24.
"Since yesterday morning, residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg, and many central regions of the Russian Federation have been complaining about interruptions in mobile communications, the Internet, and the poor performance of many mobile services and applications. Ukrainian intelligence noted that the successful Internet disruption affected not only MegaFon but also Yota and NetByNet operators. In addition, it temporarily deprived Russians of access to Internet resources and services such as Steam, Twitch, and Discord, which are actively used by the Russian army and special services to support aggression against Ukraine.
