Defense Forces give tough rebuff to Russian invaders: the General Staff names the hottest areas

In less than 24 hours on September 9 (as of 16:00), 105 combat engagements have already taken place in Ukraine. Russian troops are most active in the Pokrovsk and Kurakhove directions.

This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in its evening summary on the 929th day of the full-scale war. "Russian invaders continue to storm the positions of Ukrainian defenders," the press service said.

On Monday, enemy artillery and mortar fire in the Chernihiv and Sumy regions affected the areas of Karpovychi, Uhly, Mezenivka, Semenivka, Mykolaivka, Vovkivka, Stepok, Popivka, Malushyne, Velyka Pysarivka, Iskryskivka, Bobylivka and Striletska Pushkarka. In addition, the Russians conducted air strikes with anti-aircraft gunships in the areas of Pavlivka, Bilopillia, Hodunivka, Pustohorod, and Halahanivka.

In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy unsuccessfully stormed Ukrainian positions in Vovchansk.

On September 9 (as of 16:00), six combat engagements took place in the Kupiansk sector. The enemy conducted offensive actions near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Hlushkivka, Stelmakhivka, and towards Lozova.

In the Lyman sector, Russians attacked seven localities 10 times in the vicinity of seven settlements. Six battles are still ongoing. The invaders are concentrating their efforts near Novosadove and Nevske (half of all the battles in this section of the front took place there).

In Siversk sector, the Ukrainian Defense Forces repelled nine Russian attempts to advance near Verkhniekamianske, Ivan-Daiyivka, Spirne, and Zvanivka. In the attacks toward the latter, the occupants used armored vehicles in addition to infantry and suffered losses.

There were two firefights in the Kramatorsk sector. The invaders were advancing toward Bila Hora and dropped an aerial bomb, targeting Predtechyne.

In the Toretsk sector, the Russian Armed Forces, supported by bomber aircraft, tried to advance five times in the areas of Toretsk and Nelipivka. They were fiercely rebuffed. The aggressor fired at Dyliivka with multiple rocket launchers and CABs.

In the Pokrovsk sector, the enemy carried out 23 assault operations in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Zelene Pole, Novotroitske, Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, Selydove, and Mykhailivka. Russians also carried out an air strike on Panteleimonivka. Ukrainian defense forces are holding back the attack and repelled 16 attacks. As of 16:00, seven more battles were still ongoing, mostly in the area of Novohrodivka.

In the Kurakhove sector, the invaders attacked 28 times in the direction of Dolynove, Zhelanne Pershe, Ukrainske, Halytsynivka, Krasnohorivka, Heorhiivka and Kostiantynivka. 19 attempts by the occupiers to advance have already been repelled. The most active fighting continued (as of 16:00) near Krasnohorivka.

In the Vremivsk sector, the aggressor stormed our positions seven times – towards Zolota Nyva, Vuhledar, and Shakhtarske. Two battles near Vuhledar did not end. The invaders also fired at Vuhledar and Vodiane with NARs and Katerynivka with KABs.

Two attacks were recorded in the Orikhivsk sector. Russian aviation was active: terrorists attacked the areas of Novoandriivka, Stepnohirsk, Kamianske, Novodanylivka, Luhanske, and Bilihiria. In total, they used almost 70 unguided aerial missiles and seven anti-aircraft missiles.

Seven enemy attacks were repelled in the Prydniprovskyi sector.

In other areas, the operational situation remained unchanged.

As reported by OBOZ.UA, on the evening of September 8 – night of September 9, the Russian occupiers launched another attack on Ukraine. They launched eight Shahed kamikaze drones and three missiles. Ukraine's air defense system downed eight enemy air targets: two X-59/69 guided missiles and six attack UAVs.
